FIVE teenagers have been arrested following an incident in which a man was hurt while he was helping his ill girlfriend.
Other brands jewelleryA woman had stopped to help the couple when a gang of youths walked up to them and allegedly attacked the man. He suffered cuts to his face.
The two women also had their handbags stolen during the incident, which happened in Birmingham Road, Stratford, near to the junction with Guild Street, at 1am on New Year's Day.
LED Street Light LU08-224WPolice officers on patrol later found one of the handbags in a waste bin in Henley Street.
Five youths were taken into custody for questioning and later released on police bail.
The injured man was taken to Warwick Hospital and released after treatment.
Police in Stratford are appealing for information about the incident.
